Clenet Series III Asha

The Classic Clenet Club is trying to find every Clenet on Earth. We doubt that we will complete this project anytime soon, but we consider the effort to be worthwhile. Clenet Coachworks Inc. produced a total of 52 Clenet Series III Asha automobiles. The first 14 Ashas were produced at the new Goleta plant starting in 1981 and featured either a standard hardtop or a targa roof. This plant also produced some Asha convertibles. After a major redesign, the balance of the Ashas were all convertibles and produced at Carpinteria. The base price of the Series III started at $62,500 in 1981 and increased to $82,500 by the end of production in 1987.
